Capacity: 3,000 competitive climbers and 8,000 fitness hikers, 11,000 total. Four categories: older, middle-aged, young and a new university-student group. Top three men and women in each receive gold, silver and bronze medals; top 30 receive prizes, up to CNY 20,000 in the youth group. Competitive entrants receive free return Zhongtianmen cable car and shuttle rides; hikers receive free mountain admission.
